This recycled and recyclable Little Owl nest box is built from field-tested Stokbord — a strong, weather-resistant material designed to outlast traditional plywood boxes in the British climate. It provides a safe, long-lasting nesting site with excellent protection during extreme heat.

Suitable Locations
Choose a location where Little Owls can benefit from nearby perching opportunities and clear views of their surroundings. Mature trees naturally provide places to perch, rest and explore as Little Owls move around their environment.
Shorter vegetation and grazed areas provide easier access to prey, while more open surroundings may help provide better visibility and awareness of approaching predators.

Positioning Height
A height of around 12–14ft (3.5–4 metres) is often suitable where installation is safe and practical.
Suitable habitat and nearby perching opportunities are usually more important than achieving an exact height.
Our Nest Box Design
Our Little Owl nest box has been developed through practical use and observation to provide a sheltered and spacious nest site.
The entrance porch provides additional shelter close to the entrance and the external platform offers simple landing support where required.
Contents when Delivered
Your Little Owl nest box is supplied fully assembled and includes the external platform, entrance porch, fixings and installation guidance.
Before use, add approximately 2″ (50mm) of woodshavings to the solid floor to allow a natural nest scrape to form. Woodshavings are widely available and are not included with the nest box.
An inspection hatch is built into the box and the removable roof provides access for inspection and future cleaning when required.
